by DIDIER DUBOT . on Jun 27, 2023

Paris is a treasure trove of architectural marvels, but its numerous green spaces and gardens are not to be overlooked. These areas are havens of natural beauty, filled with towering trees and gorgeous blossoms that offer a peaceful break from the bustle of the city.

Of all the verdant spots in the city, one in particular has served as the inspiration behind our newest L’air de Paris collection: the stunning Promenade Plantée. This picturesque green walk above Paris takes urban exploration to new heights, stretching from Place de la Bastille to the Bois de Vincennes. Learn more about this enchanting elevated park and how we have embodied its lush greenery in our pieces below.

The Charm of La Promenade Plantée

Converted from an abandoned railway in 1993, La Promenade Plantée or La Coulée Verte marks the world’s first elevated park walkway. This ingenious restoration project has undoubtedly inspired some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, including New York’s High Line and Seoul’s Seoullo 7017. To this day, it remains Europe’s longest and only elevated park.

This garden in the sky boasts breathtaking views of Paris, winding 10 meters above the 12th arrondissement for almost 5 kilometers. Its diverse assortment of flora includes leafy trees, vibrant lavender and cherry blossoms, bamboo stalks, and roses, which line the walkways enhanced with graceful arches and calming pools. It encompasses some of the city’s most beautiful gardens, including the Jardin de Reuilly and the square Charles Péguy.

Widely considered an oasis within the city, La Promenade Plantée is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience urban greenery in a special way. To enjoy this elevated gem, you can begin the walk at the crossroads of Rue de Lyon and Avenue Daumesnil. If ever you wish to take a pause from nature, you can descend at the Viaduc des Arts and browse artisanal showrooms filled with handcrafted jewelry, glassware, and furniture.

Embrace the Beauty of Nature With L’air de Paris

Inspired by the unique fusion of urbanity and nature, our new L’air de Paris pieces recreate the vibrant colors and architectural details of La Promenade Plantée. The designs embody the clean lines of the walkway, the intricate railings of the bridges, and the curves of the garden’s arches.

The Colors Of La Promenade In Bloom

The collection’s pieces are adorned with scintillating gemstones that recreate the stunning hues found within the Promenade:

  • Sundial, an animated orange that represents the golden glow of the sun as it beams down on the city, radiating with energy and warmth.
  • Tranquil blue, a cool blue that replicates the serenity of the Promenade’s refreshing pools as well as the sunny skies above Paris.
  • Digital lavender, a soft purple that emulates one of the garden’s most quintessential plants. This gentle shade has long been associated with healing and peace.

These bright, striking colors exude the freshness and positivity that only a summer in nature can bring.

Multifunctional Elegance

Curved 3 way earrings are the standout pieces of the collection. Designed to wrap around the earlobe, these versatile designs are ideal for building eye-catching ear stacks. You can twist and configure them in numerous ways, allowing you to create the illusion of multiple piercings with a single piece. Pair with ear cuffs to create a multifaceted look that offers countless styling combinations.

The New L’air de Paris Map

A continuous emblem within DIDIER DUBOT collections, the map of Paris represents the diversity and grandeur of the city. The new range of L’air de Paris pendants, stud earrings, chain bracelets that seamlessly convert to anklets, and pinky rings display an intriguing map of Paris through delicate yet eye-catching diagonal lines. Inspired by the 12 converging roads leading up to L’arc de Triomphe on the Champs-Elysées, this secret map offers a luxurious take on classic cartography.

Diagonal closures, often adorned with colorful gemstones, subtly recreate the map on more minimal pieces for those who prefer a cleaner aesthetic.

As we enter the lushest period of the year, we invite you to embrace
Mother Nature at her finest with the new L’air de Paris collection.
